A: The
calls are FREE for 125 members calling each other over the 125 Telecom
network. If you call someone who only has access to the traditional
phone service you will be able to call them at low
national/international call rates, take a look at our latest
national/international call rates.

Is there a subscription charge?
A: There
is a monthly subscription charge of £5.00 per month to be connected to
the 125 Telecom network.

Can I subscribe wherever I live?
A: Yes,
you can subscribe to the 125 Telecom network no matter where you live in
the world. We will send you the digital phone adaptor no matter where
you are. All you need is a broadband internet connection to use the
service.

Is there a set up cost?
A: Yes,
there is a one off set up/activation charge of £45.00 which includes a
phone adaptor and telephone support to activate the service plus 100
minutes of FREE call time to get you started.

Do I have to download any software?
A: No,
there is no software to download or install, you do not need a headset
to make a call as you make calls from a normal phone also you do not
need to be sitting at your computer to make calls.

Yes, we offer several types of support via telephone and e-mail. We will
guide you through the phone set up process by telephone.

Do I have to buy a phone?

No, when you subscribe we will send you a phone adaptor which enables

Can I connect a cell phone?

No, you cannot connect a cell phone to our network.

Can I surf the Internet while I'm talking?

Yes, if your bandwidth permits you will be able to talk on the phone and
surf at the same time.

What is a SIP phone adaptor?
A:
SIP stands for Session Internet Protocol. It is a very common standard
for setting up calls between internet devices. 125 Telecom provides you
with a SIP phone adaptor.

What is broadband?
A:
Broadband is typically considered anything faster than a dial-up modem
connection. Examples would be: DSL, Cable modem, ISDN, T1.

Do I need a computer?
A:
Yes and No, your SIP phone adaptor can be connected directly to your
computer or can be plugged into a hub. But since all the 125 Telecom
account features are all controlled online via your personal account
control panel, it is recommended that you use a computer to manage
your 125 Telecom account.

Can I use dial up?
A:
It is recommended that you have a broadband internet connection as the
minimum bandwidth requirement is 64 Kb/s in each direction (total
128kb/s). Additionally the connection must be stable and up to the
task of transmitting voice packets in a timely or reliable manner.
